The ten start-ups for the final stage of the Next Energy Call for Ideas have been selected
Now in its third edition, the event aims to promote young talent, innovators and start-ups and encourage the growth and development of teams with innovative projects, solutions and technologies within the energy sector. The initiative is promoted by Terna in collaboration with the Cariplo Foundation and Cariplo Factory. “Next Energy is a process of continuous innovation, an opportunity to exchange ideas with the innovators which Terna firmly believes in,” commented Catia Bastioli, Chairwoman of Terna, opening the event in Milan at the Cariplo Factory.
During the two Selection Days, the young talents faced various challenges to compete for a place on the 3 month incubation and entrepreneurial empowerment programme envisaged by Next Energy's Call for Ideas. After an initial phase of workshops and training, the day continued with an intense pitch and Q&A session where the 13 start-ups presented their project in front of the judging panel headed by Catia Bastioli, Chairwoman of Terna. Each start-up had 5 minutes to present, followed by 5 minutes of questions; there were a lot of questions for each of the projects presented.
At the end of the programme, the Next Energy jury came together and announced the names of the 10 start-ups that will progress to the three-month acceleration programme, thanks to Cariplo Factory and a network which includes the best incubators in Italy. This means that the selected start-ups can be guided in a more efficient manner by the organisation most suited to their technological innovation.
The selected start-ups are:
4. NEXUS QUBEE
7. VT ENERGY INNOVATION
